FAQ

Yes, I’d love to support you! All mothers come with their unique story and needs. Whether you are at the start of your journey or later in life, I am here to support you. I have the training in both the transition into motherhood, known as Matrescence, the sociology of Motherhood, life coaching and have the experience of being on the motherhood train from the second time. I am not able to offer support for postpartum mental health problems where counselling, psychotherapy or specialised mental health professionals would be more appropriate.

Life Coaching supports you to be your true authentic self. At the start of the coaching series we will explore what you truly want your life to look like and feel like. You will set inspiring goals unique to you, will explore where you are right now to establish the reality of your life. We will set realistic but stretching actions for you to move forward so that you can achieve your goals. Throughout the series you are accountable for taking action and learning and are supported by me throughout. We only focus on what is right for you.

I give you the space to tell me your story, to say what life is really like for you right now without judgment and we work out what you really want and need and how you can get it. I support you through compassionate coaching to set your goals, to decide on your best actions and then to make step by step actions that are unique to you and your family.

Coaching is not like talking to a friend because we are ONLY focused on you. It’s confidential, it’s focused only on you, no one else is pushing their ideas, their shoulds, their woulds, or judgements on who you are and what you are doing. Coaching is YOUR space and it’s all ABOUT YOU, FOR YOU. I’m rooting for you, cheering you on at every step.

I do not give you the answers, nor do I tell you what to do. Instead, I support you to find the answers for yourself, which are just right for you, unique to your life and situation. I offer tools and techniques that may be apt to your situation – they are suggestions open to you to use or not. You are unique and your solutions and path is unique to you, for you. In doing so, you are empowered, you are strengthened. Coaching is all about what YOU want, what YOU feel and that will make the difference to your life now and your life looking forward. No one knows you but yourself and I respect and support your individualism.

There are similarities – it’s confidential, it’s a space for you to talk but Coaching is not counselling. Counselling tends to aim to resolve past trauma or deep wounds that can be long term. Coaching looks forward in life, does not resolve past traumas and can be short term, and can be long term too. For some, counselling is more appropriate, and for others, coaching is more appropriate. I do not counsel, I coach and if counselling is more appropriate for you then I’d suggest that to you.

People ask me, “Can I have coaching too?” – Yes, absolutely! I’d love to help you to be your true authentic self, to live your own best life, no matter your age nor your interests. Coaching is focused on the client no matter the journey. I am here to help you and in a Discovery Call we will discuss your vision for your life and how we can move towards it. And if you don’t know your vision (perfectly ok…), then exploring that and what makes your heart sing is a great place to start!

I am not a psychologist nor a counsellor. I am a life coach with an interest in supporting mothers. I am trauma informed and am aware of my scope of practice. If it is apparent that counselling or therapy would be more helpful to you I will raise this with you. I am here to support you in an authentic way which is within my scope of training and practice and is best suited to your needs.

I coach clients who are women-identifying and are of all religious and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, ages, and body types. I continue to learn as an individual to improve my understanding and knowledge on the challenges faced by populations throughout the world.
